The Brooklyn Tech alumni community is united in its grief as it bids farewell to Monica Ruth Myers, a cherished member of the Class of 2004 who passed away on March 31. Monica, whose brilliance, dedication, and kindness have left an indelible mark on the lives of those who knew her, is being remembered and celebrated for the gifts she brought to her community.
A proud graduate of Brooklyn Technical High School, Monica’s academic journey continued at Stony Brook University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Management. With an unquenchable thirst for knowledge, she went on to achieve an MBA from the prestigious Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, solidifying her reputation as a dedicated scholar and determined learner.
Throughout her professional career, Monica excelled at some of the world’s leading companies, including Google, American Express, and Bank of America Merrill Lynch. She became known for her intelligence and tireless work ethic, navigating the complexities of the corporate world with grace and determination. Colleagues admired her for her leadership skills, creativity, and the ability to inspire everyone around her to reach their fullest potential.
However, it is Monica’s spirit and character that truly resonate with those who had the fortune of knowing her. She was not just a talented professional; she was a caring and compassionate friend who made a meaningful impact in the lives of those she encountered. Her warmth and generosity knew no bounds, and she consistently uplifted others while staying true to her foundational values relating to family and community.
In recognition of Monica’s life and the far-reaching influence she had on so many, services will be held to celebrate her legacy. The viewing will take place on Friday, April 11th from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Benta’s Funeral Home. The following day, attendees can join the funeral service at Canaan Baptist Church at 9:00 AM, concluding with a repast at The Balton, where memories can be shared in her honor.
